A little while ago the Q Team headed down to one of our favourite haunts, Cin Cin. This little pop-up style eatery on Vine Street offers some of the most delicious and authentic Italian Cuisine you can find in the city. The Vine Street restaurant now has a big brother located on Western Road in Hove but for a more intimate and unusual experience we’ll head to the North Laine one every time.
We started our meal with a shared selection of meats, cheese and olives, and this style of grazing is perfect in this relaxed environment. Seated round the bar is great way to dine and works even better when the staff perfectly judge when to talk with you and when to leave you to natter amongst yourselves. There was some dispute when it came to the main course over which was best but for an unusual dish that tasted different to anything we’d had before in an Italian restaurant, the Smoked haddock scarpinocc, curried leek velouté just pipped the Cacao pappardelle, venison ragu, orange gremolata. All of this was washed down with a particularly pleasant bottle (or two) of Gavi di Gavi.
We had a wonderful evening at Cin Cin and really can’t recommend it highly enough. We’ll be back.
