The history of Halloween is long and fascinating with many different tales. Originally dated back to the Celtic festival and named ‘’Samhain’’. When the veil between our worlds was at its thinnest.
(Alternatively, it’s the perfect time to throw nice family party and bring together the kids and adults).
For a night in with the kids or a larger party, we’ve compiled a list of some of our favourite Halloween ideas. From family recipes to diy games, we have everything covered.
JIM’S HALLOWEEN SOUP – A recipe for success.
Heart-warming and tasty! This spicy twist on a classic autumnal soup is given an extra lift with the addition of a creamy blue cheese toast on the side.
To accompany this our friends at Butlers Wine Cellar have paired it with Secateurs Chein Blanc.

HALLOWEEN DAY OUT – One for All the Family
This local family run dairy farm located off the beaten track in Rodmell is the perfect day out for all the family. It is simply a large field with pumpkins. It’s free to visit and pumpkins vary on costs dependent on the size.
We recommend bring a hot flask with you to drink whilst kids enjoy running round the field trying to find the biggest pumpkins or alternatively drive over to the next village and get a hot cup of coffee.
GAMES
Guaranteed to get everyone feeling squeamish. This halloween themed mystery box is a much loved family favourite, it is entertaining and easy to make.
