Last month saw the annual Q charity cricket match take place. Once again we all headed up to the beautiful village of Waldron to take on the village team. It was a great day and the entire match was played in the best of spirit. A tight match came down to the final ball with Q requiring two runs to win and Waldron needing one wicket. With such a tense game it was fitting that neither eventuality occurred and the match was settled as a noble draw.
Once again we were raising money for Rockinghorse Children’s Charity, with almost £500 raised on the day, thanks to some poor quality fielding and the immense generosity of all those that cam to watch.
We’d like to thank the Q XI that this year comprised Jose Quintana, James Beale, Jim Quintana, Dominic Ryan, Marc Wood, Tim Worthley, Matt Coombs, Duncan Coombs, Dan Lewis, Drew Worthley, Matt Mccooey. Also, our umpire Richard Beale.
Other thanks go to Waldron for hosting us again and making it such a good spirited day, and The Star for laying on the food and drink in the evening.
