Q are very pleased to announce that we are teaming up with Rockinghorse – the fundraising arm of the Royal Alexandra Children’s Hospital and the Trevor Mann Baby Unit. Rockinghorse is a Brighton-based charity which has been supporting children for over 45 years. It was set up in 1967 by Dr Trevor Mann, who recognised there was a real need for additional resources to improve healthcare services for sick children and babies.
Last year my daughter Kitty was affected by severe meconium aspiration at birth. Fortunately she made a full recovery and is now a healthy, active, noisy, and mischievous one-year-old, and this is in no small part down to the incredible care she received on the Trevor Mann Baby Unit. The two weeks we spent on the baby unit were both the best and worst of times as we endured the distress of seeing our new baby in intensive care alongside witnessing her incredible recovery. The treatment she received has only recently been developed and the TMBU is a leader in this field; and it is thanks to the work of the Rockinghorse appeal that we, along with hundreds of others, benefited from it.
As a company we will be making a donation from every sale to Rockinghorse; we will also be planning a few other things to raise a little bit extra – keep a look-out for news about our annual cricket match in August.
